One persistent but entirely unsubstantiated rumor running through the whole Manti Te'o fake dead girlfriend saga is that the hoax was concocted to cover up Te'o being gay. And despite the unsubstantiated nature of the rumor, Katie Couric still addressed it in her Te'o interview. And how it played out... wasn't the best.
